European Ramblers Federation (ERA) – Leading Quality Day Walks (4-25 km) ERA certifies both long distances and shorter day hikes. Day Walks were introduced in 2023 and are based on hikers' desires for beautiful landscapes, good trails, breaks, and cultural experiences. Read more on ERA's website.
German Hiking Institute (DWI) - DWI offers three types of certification: Premium hiking trail (9-25 km), Easy hiking trail (3-7 km), and Urban hiking trail (min. 6 km). Premium trails are assessed based on 34 criteria and must achieve at least 55 points. The certification is valid for three years.
