7. Engelsholm and Vejle Ådal

The bicycle route passes north of the idyllically-situated Engelsholm Lake, while the hiking route moves southwards past Fårup Lake to Vejle Ådal. The hiking route follows the bottom of the beautiful stream valley from Haraldskær to Tørskind.

1. Nørup Church and Engelsholm Castle

From the Hærvej bicycle route one can go a few kilometres to the south to see Nørup Church which has a very nice baroque interior. Nørup lies down to Engelsholm Lake with a view of Engelsholm Castle which, like Nørup Church, has an onion dome spire. Engelsholm Castle is today used as a folk high school, and there is access to the park.

2. The Ravning bridge

Already in the Viking Age 1000 years ago there was a great need to be able to walk dry-shoed across Vejle Ådal. It was shown by the find of the remains of a 5m wide and 760m long bridge built from wood. Out in the middle of the wide stream valley one can see a reconstruction of a small part of the bridge. There is an exhibition about the bridge at Ravning Station.

3. Tørskind Grusgrav

Art and landscape of the recent times melt together as a whole in Tørskind Grusgrav. In the gravel pit landscape sculptures by Robert Jakobsen and Jean Clareboudt are set up. The alternation of the light and the seasons gives new experiences at every visit.
